Preparatory Stage (Grades 3 to 5) Mathematics | Apex Institute of Maths and Sciences

🚀 Level 1: The Quest (The Money Concept)

Welcome, Young Shopper! Have you ever noticed prices like ₹45.50 on a chocolate wrapper? Money and Decimals are best friends! The number before the dot represents Rupees, and the number after the dot represents Paise.

Money Secret:
1 Rupee = 100 Paise
So, 1 Paisa = $ \frac{1}{100} $ of a Rupee = ₹0.01
Price Tag Rupees Paise
₹10.25 10 25
₹5.05 5 05
⚡ Level 2: Power-Ups (Shopping Methods)
The Decimal Rule: When adding money, always line up the “Dots” (decimal points). If there are no paise, write it as .00.
Example: Add ₹12.50 and ₹7.75
$ 12.50 $
$ + 07.75 $
———-
$ 20.25 $
