🚀 Level 1: The Quest (The Hidden World)
Imagine a world so tiny that millions of its residents could fit on the head of a pin! These are Microorganisms. They are everywhere: in the air you breathe, the water you drink, and even inside your tummy!
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Bacteria | Single-celled giants of the micro-world. Some make curd, others cause strep throat. |
| Viruses | The “zombies.” They aren’t fully alive until they enter a host’s body. |
| Fungi | The decomposers. Think of mushrooms or the fuzzy green stuff on old bread. |
⚡ Level 2: Power-Ups (Micro-Tools)
How do we tell them apart? We use their “signatures” or specific traits!
- Antibiotics: Kill Bacteria only (Zero effect on Viruses!).
- Vaccines: Training your body to fight Viruses and Bacteria.
- Fermentation: Yeast (Fungi) converts sugar into CO₂ and Alcohol.
👾 Level 3: Mini-Boss Battles (Daily Life)
Why does bread have tiny holes? Battle Strategy: Yeast (Fungi) eats the sugar in dough and breathes out Carbon Dioxide. Those bubbles get trapped, making the bread soft and fluffy!
How does milk turn into curd overnight? Battle Strategy: Lactobacillus (Bacteria) works a night shift to convert milk proteins into curd by producing lactic acid.
🏠 Level 4: Home Quests (Practical Tasks)
Take a small slice of bread, sprinkle 2 drops of water, and keep it in a dark corner in a plastic bag. Observe it for 3 days. Can you see the fuzzy Fungi “Rhizopus” growing? (Don’t open the bag!)
Look into your kitchen with your parents. Identify 3 items made using microorganisms (e.g., Curd, Cheese, Vinegar, Bread, Idli Batter). List them down!
